May 10, 2025 | Chengdu—Alumni from the 1991 cohort of the Management major at School of Economics and Management (SEM) returned to Southwest Jiaotong University (SWJTU) for a 30th-anniversary homecoming, joining SWJTU’s broader 129th-anniversary celebrations on the Jiuli Campus.
Over 600 alumni, faculty, and staff gathered to reconnect and reminisce. Professor HAN Ke, Dean of SEM, represented the school at the main university ceremony.

Following the campus-wide celebration, the group gathered for a commemorative photo, capturing a joyful reunion of professors and their former students. The photograph will be preserved in SWJTU’s historical archives.

SEM hosted a special symposium for the returning alumni. Professor GUO Qiang, Secretary of the CPC SEM Committee, joined faculty members to welcome them back. The event provided a warm space for old classmates and professors to share cherished memories and discuss the school’s continuing growth.

Looking through old photographs, the alumni reflected on their university days, marveling at the incredible transformation of the campus and its surroundings over the past three decades. They recalled a once-quiet campus that has blossomed into a bustling, prosperous area, a testament to the remarkable progress of both the university and the city.

SEM’s leadership presented the alumni with souvenirs from SEM. Many attendees pledged to strengthen their ties with their alma mater and each other, committing to support the future of SWJTU and SEM. The event was not just a journey into the past, but a powerful reaffirmation of the enduring bond between the alumni and their university.
